The Walter Strauss Stroke Center

The Walter Strauss Stroke Center was named after Walter Strauss, the late grandfather of The Grand Healthcare System’s CEO Jeremy B. Strauss. In his later years, Walter Strauss suffered a devastating stroke. Dealing with the trials and tribulations that come with stroke recovery, he lived the rest of his life in and out of rehabilitation, hoping to overcome the damage that accompanied this tragic brain injury. The leading cause of disability in the United States, stroke is the number 4 cause of death in the country and, witnessing his grandfather’s struggles, Jeremy made it his goal to create a stroke center that would incorporate state of the art equipment and the ultimate in hands on care in order to restore maximum independence to every guest.

The Walter Strauss Stroke Center’s program is comprised of a rehabilitation and medical model involving a team of professionals in all phases of the stroke patients’ recovery. Offering a unique experience for guests recovering from a stroke, The Walter Strauss Stroke Center incorporates the latest in medical, nursing, and therapeutic technologies, providing guests with an unparalleled level of care and allowing them to achieve maximum results.
